Bonnie And Clyde Car
The year 1932 was when Bonnie and Clyde embarked on their crime quest that took a total of 13 lives and lasted for around 21 months. They also committed many automobile thefts, bank robberies, kidnappings, and burglaries. However, their life of crime came spiraling down on May 23rd, 1934, when their car was showered by police bullets, killing them on the spot.
Even though Bonnie and Clyde’s infamous lives came to an end, their car’s journey of fame had just begun. Once the incident took place, the police towed the Bonnie and Clyde death car to a town close by where more than 16,000 spectators had gathered to catch its glimpse.
Bonnie And Clyde Death Car Becomes An Attraction
The bullet-ridden and blood sprinkled Bonnie and Clyde car became a top attraction for 30 years, where it was displayed at carnivals, fairs, flea markets, and amusement parks.
The 1934 Ford Deluxe Sedan (Bonnie and Clyde death car) had a streak of different owners. For some time, it was displayed in Princeton’s Museum of Antique Autos. Later on, the car made its way to a race track in Nevada during the ’70s. There, people could get the opportunity of a lifetime to actually sit in the car for a dollar.
Ten years later, it moved to a car museum in Las Vegas, and after another ten years, it was placed at a casino close to the Nevada/California state line. The death car’s journey didn’t stop there; it was then moved to another casino on the freeway’s opposite side. After that, Bonnie and Clyde car was displayed at other casinos in Missouri, Iowa, and then to its current location in Nevada.
Bonnie And Clyde Car Today
Today, Bonnie and Clyde death car is parked at a casino in Nevada, happily enjoying its place on a plush carpet. The vehicle’s doors are tied shut as it is no longer allowed to sit in the car. Moreover, it is placed behind glass panels, which makes taking pictures quite tricky.
However, spectators can still be impressed by the exterior and get eerie vibes from the car’s visible bullet holes. To add an extra element to the display, dummies showcasing Bonnie and Clyde’s poses while cradling weapons are placed next to the car.
Well, the show must go on!
